Ranked 14th and semi-finalists at the Michigan State Championship, earned the Adambots a spot at the FIRST World Championship in St. Louis, Missouri.

c-img_3442Leaving Adams High School at 2:45 pm and reaching St. Louis around 2 am, left us a bit tired for our first day of competition.

Thursday, April 26th was a decent day for Margarita, our robot. Of course, she had the help of our amazing drive team, Tanay, Steven, Becky, Ben and Jason. They won two of their four matches and nothing broke! It was a first! We tried for the website award, however team 115, MVRT, won instead.

Friday, April 27th proved to be even more successful than Thursday. We won every match that day. Autodesk awarded … Read More

Michigan State Championship Recap

The team went to the State Championships with high spirit, although we knew that a spot in the World Championships would be difficult to achieve as we were ranked in the lower half of the State. Thursday was a disappointing day losing two of our four matches scheduled for the day. Friday lifted our spirits and morale as our redesigned shooter was making baskets left and right and even in the hybrid period.

The team not only competed on Friday but also helped to raise funds for Relay for Life 2012. The team went around the competition selling pink ducks. We raised $215 alone from the pink ducks! But our fund-raising didn’t stop there as on Saturday our team switched out of our… Read More

2012 Niles District Recap

The 2012 Alamo Regional went well for the Adambots, as we finished in the quarter finals as the number 6 alliance and won the Quality Award for our exceptional organization and team efficiency. dsc01451

While we did not make it past the quarter finals, we performed well, scoring many points in both the autonomous and teleoperated periods and even balancing three robots on the bridge in our final game. Sadly, a win in the first quarter final was disqualified when there was a technical on the field, and we went on to lose the next two matches, ending our competition …Read More

Over two dozen AdamBot students and many mentors made the trip from Rochester Hills, Michigan to San Antonio, Texas for the 2012 FIRST Alamo Regional from March 1st to March 3rd…Read More

Written by AdamBot Student on January 28, 2012

The third week of the 2012 FIRST Build Season was a tough one, as semester examsdsc01007 took place during the week. Build Season 2012 – Week 2 Recap

Written by AdamBot Student on January 21, 2012

Throughout the second week of build for our 2012 FIRST robot, we continued to innovate and improve on our designs and strategies for the robot. Tuning our roller system and a simulation feed system, we did a substantial amount of testing to see how we could improve our design for when we build the final bot.
The field team began constructing a replica of the FIRST field that could be used for practice, working long hours and nearly finishing the complete test field. The programming and CAD teams continued to work on the computing and electronics of the robot, and the marketing and website team made progress in social media and photo sharing methods…Read More

Build Season 2012 – Week 1 Recap

Written by AdamBot Student on January 18, 2012

Last week marked the beginning of a new FIRST season for the Adambots. Starting with an inspirational kickoff at Novi High School, the team began to design their robot for this year’s FIRST game, the basketball-themed “Rebound Rumble”.  Meeting at Crittenton Hospital, we were further informed of the game’s rules and strategies in an educational presentation by Mr. Drummer.

After the presentation, we were split into design groups and asked to give our design ideas for the team’s latest robot. In an extremely productive design session, we were faced with a plethora of questions for their robot strategy- Would the robot be offensive, or defensive? Would it utilize an arm or shooter… Read More
