Watch our games from the FIRST World Championship Archimedes Division on Youtube!

Ranked 14th and semi-finalists at the Michigan State Championship, the Adambots earned a spot at the FIRST World Championship in St. Louis, Missouri.

c-img_3442Leaving Adams High School at 2:45 pm and reaching St. Louis around 2 am, left us a bit tired for our first day of competition.

Thursday, April 26th was a decent day for Margarita, our robot. Of course, she had the help of our amazing drive team, Tanay, Steven, Becky, Ben and Jason. They won two of their four matches and nothing broke! It was a first! We tried for the website award, however team 115, MVRT, won instead.

Friday, April 27th proved to be even more successful than Thursday. We won every match that day. Autodesk awarded us best storyline for our animation. Congratulations to Tristan and the animation team! This was our first year with an animation and they definitely rose to the challenge. We also applied for the Entrepreneurship award for the first time. This was a year of firsts.

Saturday, April 28th was our last day of competition. Going into alliance selection we were ranked 9th and coming out we were the 8th alliance captains. We chose teamc-img_3472 1976, the Pioneers, and team 1592, the Bionic Tigers. Our first match of the quarter-finals was against teams 67, 2826, and 4143. We lost to them 62-79 and 33-79.
Teams 180, 16, and 25 from the Galileo division did come out on top to win overall on the Einstein field. Even with a severe weather alert halfway through.

Overall, the AdamBots had a good season. We won 40 of our 70 matches. We received 60 coopertition bridge points and triple balanced four times. In the Archimedes c-img_3592 division, we had one of the highest number of autonomous points. We also won numerous entrepreneurship and websites awards even though we didn’t win those at the championships.

We are looking forward to our off-season events and the 2013 FIRST Season.
