What are 2 fun facts about you?

I have a huge stamp collection that includes my grandmothers collection that she had started.
I love roller coasters!  The bigger, the faster, the scarier the better.

Why did you join the AdamBots?

My daughter joined the team.  Since I was already carpooling students from Stoney Creek, I stayed and helped.  My daughter graduated two years ago.  I haven’t graduated, yet.

What is your favorite memory from robotics?

There are so many wonderful memories.  Going to the World Championships is obviously at the top of that list, but I think my number one favorite memory is watching my once shy daughter jump out of the bleachers to dance.

Why have you learned from being on the team?

I have learned a lot from the students.  They inspire me.

Do you have any tips for the current AdamBots?

Be curious.  Ask questions.  Be present.  Put the phones away and interact with people.  Capitalize on this opportunity to learn from the mentors that have years of experience in the field that you are interested in.  Their knowledge is invaluable and you will be years ahead of your peers in practical experience when entering college.  Most importantly, have fun!

What is something you would of wanted to do differently to reach where you are today? (career-wise or to get to the AdamBots).

I would have taken more math and science classes.  I was always interested in engineering and how things worked, but didn’t think I was very good at it so went the business route instead.  I would have liked to have had an opportunity like this when I was young.

What is special about FIRST?

Coopertition. Gracious Professionalism.  It is the hardest fun you will ever have.
