Belleville and Kentwood Competitions

Written by AdamBot Student on April 9, 2022 in 2022 FIRST

The past 2 weeks have been busy for the Adambots with back to back district competitions in Belleville and Kentwood.

In Belleville we finished the qualifying rounds in 3rd place with a win/loss record of 10/2.  Our alliance was 5050 CowTown Robotics and 7174 Charger Robotics. We made it to the Semifinals but lost to the number 2 alliance. At this event we won the Chairman’s award, the highest award in FIRST, and subsequently qualified for the state championships!

After ending the qualifying matches at Kentwood we were ranked 12th out of 33 teams. The AdamBots were first to be picked in the alliance selection by the 5th Alliance Captain from team 3546 Buc-n-Gears, and our third partner was 858 the Demons. In the quarterfinals we beat the 4th alliance, in the semifinals we won over the 1st alliance, and in the finals, we were against the 2nd alliance.  After some very close matches, some broken robots, new robots joining in and getting red ribboned medals at the end made for the best weekend! The AdamBots came home with a finalist award!

Overall, the Adambots are doing great this season and we are incredibly proud of all our students and mentors and grateful to our sponsors. Catch us in Saginaw next week at the The Michigan State Championships on April 14, 15 and 16!
