2016 FRC Blogs: Build Week 4

Written by AdamBot Student on February 8, 2016 in 2016 FIRST

During the fourth week of build season, the AdamBots were able to complete many important tasks for the engineering and business sides of the team.  The Game Strategy and Scouting Team revised the scouting sheet and created a scouting summary sheet. The Mechanical Teams finished the chassis for the practice robot and began working on the chassis for the two competition robots. They have also been working with the CAD Team on fixing the CAD model and refining the parts of the CAD model for the arm and shooter so they can start fabrication soon.  Meanwhile, the Electrical and Electronics Team has been designing the control board and working with the compressors. The Programming Team has been writing and testing code for the robot. Lastly, the Field Team has been building the high goal, putting together the hanging bar for scaling, and assembling the ramps that go up the tower so that we will have a field to practice on once the robot is complete.

On the business side of the team, the Chairman’s Team and the Business Plan Team both submitted their online submissions, which are for the Chairman’s Award and the Entrepreneurship Award, respectively. The Chairman’s Team is now working on getting clips for the Chairman’s video and practicing the Chairman’s presentation, while the Business Plan Team is practicing presentations for the judges. The Marketing Team finalized the presentation for Meet the AdamBots and CyberCats Event this past week and set roles for day of the event. Finally, the Project Management Team has been doing scheduling and keeping teams on task to finish the robot.

On the media side of the team, the Animation Team worked on a storyboard for the Dave Lavery Animation Competition.  The Imagery Team has been working on the standard for our team and discussing different ideas for sponsor placement on the robot.  The Digital Media Team is working on updating the pictures on the website and writing the digital media plan submission. The Photo/Video Team has had a busy week taking photos and videos of teams as they are working. They also took the team picture for the AdamBots, took individual pictures for the AdamBots website, and took clips of the whole team and individual team members for the Chairman’s video.

We are nearing the end of the build season and the AdamBots are excited to be hosting parents, sponsors, and community members at our school this Saturday, Febuary 13th, from 2 – 4 pm for our third annual Meet the AdamBots Event!
