2023 SASA National Advocacy Conference
The Adambots went to Washington DC to meet with John James. His office set up a tour for of the Capitol for us. We also met with the staffs of Tim Walberg, Elissa Slotkin, Debbie Stabenow (we had a virtual meeting with her staff), Gary Peters & FIRST CEO Chris Moore to advocate for STEM education.

2022 SASA National Advocacy Conference
The AdamBots were represented by four of our students and two of our mentors when they attended the 9th annual National Advocacy Conference (NAC) June 26th to June 28th held in Washington D.C.
The conference, presented by the Student Association for STEM Advocacy (SASA), helps students develop skills to build relationships with elected officials while learning to be an effective advocate for STEM.
They met in person with staff members from Representative Elissa Slotkin and Senator Gary Peters offices and had a zoom meeting with staff from Senator Debbie Stabenow’s office.
The conference also gave the students the opportunity to interact with other FIRST teams and ended with a reception for all the SASA NAC attendees.

2023 Michigan Advocacy Conference
The Michigan STEM Advocacy Conference in Lansing was held on October 19th, 2023. The AdamBots sent 5 students and met with state representatives Mark Tisdel and a staff member from Michael Webber to advocate for STEM education in Michigan.
2022 Michigan Advocacy Conference
The AdamBots also sent 2 students to the Michigan STEM Advocacy Conference in Lansing on October 12th, 2022.
Meeting with Rochester Hills Mayor Barnett
The AdamBots along with team members from Rochester HS and Stoney Creek HS met with Rochester Hills Mayor Brian Barnett Monday February 7, 2023 to discuss STEM in our community.
2024 DEI Presentation
The Adambots presented at the Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Committee of Rochester Community Schools to showcase how diversity equity and inclusion is an integral part of our core values and how we function as a team. We spoke on how STEM education achieves the goals of DEI education, making it important the the district supports STEM programs like our FIRST teams. They have invited us back to present on how STEM programs are able to contribute to the goals of DEI and we look forward to furthering our relationship with our district.

Brigadier General Cushing
Adams High School alumni Brigadier General Cushing visited with team members on November 10th 2023. We demonstrated our robot, showed him our build space and told him about our development process and FIRST Robotics competition.
