FRC Traverse City District 2015

Written by AdamBot Student on March 26, 2015 in 2015 FIRST

After Howell, we loaded our bus and headed to Traverse City for our second competition of the season. Anastasia did well at Howell, but she really shined at Traverse City. It only took a few qualification matches for us to crawl to the top of the list. We remained first seed for a majority of the competition, and never dropped below third place. Our consistency in scores is shown below, with our score bolded.

88 – 43

10 – 82

106  – 80

32 – 35

30 – 49

52 – 96

53 – 75

109 – 81

77 – 130

66 – 76

78 – 42

67 – 98

Our hard work certainly paid off. We were the 1st alliance captain, which allowed us to be first to invite team 1711, The Raptors, to our alliance. We were joined by team 5692, the Chief-bots, a rookie team. The three of us worked together like clock-work to stack our way to district Champions.

Quarter finals

95 – 75

102 – 70

Semifinals

122 – 96

110 – 71

114 – 72

Finals

114 – 86

111 – 83

Along with being event Champions, we won the Chairman’s award. This award is regarded as the most prestigious award given in FIRST. “It honors the team that best represents a model for other teams to emulate and best embodies the purpose and goals of FIRST”. Between these two victories, we were able to accumulate enough points for us to secure a spot at the State Championship, where we will compete with the best of the best robots in Michigan. We will compete with other Chairman’s district winners as well.
