2014 Troy District Recap

Written by AdamBot Student on April 16, 2014 in 2014 FIRST

The AdamBots continued to attend Michigan FRC events with the Troy District on Friday, April 4th and Saturday, April 5th.

With nine matches on Friday, w4-9-14-310e kept ourselves busy. Although we didn’t find the same level of consistency in Troy that we found in Howell, only winning two of our first six matches, by the end of the day we rediscovered it and won our last three matches. Troy also saw the introduction of Vishnu Rengaraj to the Drive Team, who proved himself so capable of driving on the fly that he became a permanent addition!

Chairman’s presentations continued at Troy, and although we didn’t win the award, we were given invaluable advice from the judges to continue to improve, expand, and bond. Congratulations go to Annie Zhao for again winning the Safety Star Award at Troy for her continuing efforts to keep us all safe and secure!

Qualification matches progressed Saturday morning, with two matches scheduled for us. Fortunately, we retained the consistency found at the end of Friday, and won our remaining matches. We joined teams 226, the Hammerheads; and 3538, the Robo-Jackets; in the quarter-finals as the 7th seed alliance, but our time was cut short when we lost both quarter-final rounds to the 2nd seed alliance (consisting of teams 33, the Killer Bees; 910, Foley Freeze; and 5193, Pantheon). In the end, the 2nd seed alliance went on to win the Troy district. Congratulations to those teams!

Not all was lost for the AdamBots, however! We were awarded the Industrial Safety Award for our fantastic safety guidelines put together by the safety team, led by Annie Zhao, which proved to be essential in qualifying for States.

Final Qualification W-L Ratio

                7-5
