This past week was not as productive as other weeks because we had exams in school. Build teams met on their designated days and everyone came on Saturday to build and finalize designs in CAD.

On Thursday night we held another design review to talk about designs, the status of projects, and see what needed to change or be done. The Marketing & Website team visited Plex Systems Friday afternoon after exams to discuss their marketing strategies and techniques.

Many in the Chassis Team have moved to help other teams. Mr. Clark is helping the Above Chassis Team, along with several other kids from his Chassis Team, with the Minibot deployment mechanism.
The Mechanism/Manipulator & Arm Team has their design in CAD. They are still deciding on their gripper but have narrowed the choices down to two.
The Above Chassis Team has a CAD model of their Minibot deployment and worked with the other build teams on the spacing and the different layers on the robot. They will be working on finalizing a Minibot design this week.
The Field Team, like the Chassis Team, has moved into other teams to help complete tasks.
The Programming Team was not able to do much Saturday because the Controls & Electronics Team was working on wiring and completing the control board. However, this coming week they will be able to start programming on this year’s robot.
The Controls & Electronics Team completed wiring the control board after working extra hours Sunday! We now have a working base and the Programming Team can now start programming this year’s robot.
The Marketing & Website Team visited the Auburn Hills facility of one of our sponsors, Plex Systems, Friday afternoon. We talked to their Vice President of Marketing, Patrick Fetterman, about their marketing techniques such as online search engine optimization and their trade show displays. Our team also collected team biographies, worked on the Team Recognition page and Media Gallery, and wrote old FIRST Game descriptions for the FIRST Archive page. This coming week we are planning on finalizing and building a new pit design.
The Project Management Team divided writing on the business plan between team members.
