2000: Co-opertition FIRST

In Co-opertition FIRST, two alliances of two teams each competed to score as many points as possible by placing yellow and black balls into goals.

The Field

Co-Opertition FIRST was played on a carpeted, rectangular area. Two 6 foot high goals were located at the center. A 30 inch clearance bar was under each goal. Between the goals was an 8 foot wide ramp with a 5 foot clearance bar on which robots had a chance to hang.

Game Pieces

The game pieces consisted of both yellow and black balls resembling the dimensions and material of a dodgeball. A total of 15 yellow balls and two black balls were located throughout the field.

Game Period

Alliances competed to score as many yellow and black balls into their respective goals.  Before the end of the match, an alliance had a chance to earn bonus points by positioning their robots on the ramp. A robot that hung from a horizontal bar connecting the two goals earned ten points. The game period lasted a total of two minutes.

Scoring

Alliances received one point for each yellow ball and five points for each black ball in their respectable goals. Five points were awarded to the alliance if they were able to position a robot onto a ramp. Another ten points were awarded if an alliance could hang on the horizontal bar.
