What are 2 fun facts about you?

I’ve played piano for over 10 years.
I’ve had some artwork published in the ebook version of a fantasy novel.

Why did you join the AdamBots?

Originally, I joined the AdamBots because of the volunteer work  the team does during the fall season. I needed volunteer hours for NHS, but it wasn’t long before I was hooked. Robotics now takes up the majority of my time outside of school, and I am very okay with that.

What is your favorite memory from robotics?

My favorite memory is cheering in the stands with the Lambots at the Alamo Regional my first year (2011). The chanting was deafening, everyone was dancing and I remember it was one of the craziest and most fun competitions I’ve been to.

What have you learned from being on the team?

My experiences in robotics have taught me how much a group of people can achieve when they put their minds to it. I never really get tired of being able to tell people that in my spare time, I work with a team to build a competitive robot in only six weeks. Robotics has been the most incredible and rewarding part of my high school experience.

What is special about FIRST?

The concept of coopertition is special. At FIRST competitions, while teams are competitive, they aren’t mean spirited. It’s not uncommon to see teams helping one another in the pits or cheering for one another in the stands. The positive, supportive attitude is contagious, and it isn’t seen in any other competitive sport.
