What are 2 fun facts about you?

I like to play sports including soccer and basketball.  I also like playing basketball in my pool.

Why did you join the AdamBots?

I joined the AdamBots because my older brother, Garret, joined the team, followed by both of my parents who became mentors, and then my older sister, Megan. I joined because I had a lot of fun with the Design and Technology class at West and I thought this would be a fun activity to expand on that. My family also pushed me to join because when I joined Megan was a junior while I was a freshmen and both of my parents were mentors as well. I have wanted to expand my knowledge on engineering as that is a career path I would like to pursue.

What is your favorite team memory?

My favorite team memory was during FIRST STEAMWORKS at our first competition in week 1 at Kettering. When we were climbing the rope it snapped, leading to the robot falling to the ground upside down! Although the frame was a little bent, there was no significant damage from the fall.

What have you learned from being on the team?

I have learned so much from being on the team that I will actually use in the future. I have learned how to use all of the tools for fabrication and assembly of the robot. I have learned the qualities of respect, cooperation, teamwork, fun, and much more.

What is special about FIRST?

FIRST is special because it teaches the students all of the qualities it takes to pursue the career they want to. Whether it is an engineering type career or a business type career. It teaches you everything about deadlines and teaches you how to reach them. FIRST gives you a real experience of working on a project that takes a whole team to get to the end product. You have to rely on your teammates and work together in order to achieve your goals.
