Years on Team: 2
Sub-Teams: Business Plan Team
What are 2 fun facts?
I enjoy trout fishing!
I own a 1930 Ford Model A coup with a rumble seat.
Why did you join the AdamBots?
Our family became involved when our two sons and daughter joined the team.
What is your favorite memory?
There are many memories. A favorite is the time our robot “Olympia” fell asleep (we are still not sure why) at the Kettering District, just as judges came to visit our team in the pit and minutes before our first match. Miraculously, she awoke from her “beauty nap” just seconds before the match, joined the other robots on the Lunacy game moon’s surface, and went on to lead the AdamBots to a first seed and win at the competition!
What have you learned from being on the team?
I’ve been amazed at the new accomplishments the team members achieve by pooling their diverse talents each year…. there is always something new, fresh, and improved.
Do you have some tips for current students?
Find ways to continue to build relationships with the schools, community and sponsors. Apply the good values and lessons learned from our FIRST robotics experiences.
What is something you would of wanted to do differently to reach where you are today? (career-wise or to get to the AdamBots)
I wish FIRST robotics had been available when I was a high school student.
What is special about FIRST?
FIRST emphasizes many great values: Graceful Professionalism, cooperation, teamwork, learning, service, responsibility, working, and playing hard and more. These values make the FIRST experience rewarding and when carried forward into the “real world” by students, parents and mentors, I expect they will transform the workplace and society in a positive way.
